Overview
This client was in desperate need of a new kitchen and I'll try to explain how awful this kitchen was - dark, cramped, awkward space, kind of a weird L shape with a block in the middle, cabinet doors hanging off, and really, a terrible use of the space.
It was a good size, but had three interior rooms off it, so creative ideas were in order to make this space work really well.
We opened up the back of the house with floor to ceiling glass, removed 2 windows of different sizes on one wall and added a long, low row of slit windows to create light and ventilation without losing storage space. We moved the dining area to the back of the house and created a small island, cooking station, coffee bar and lots of storage with a built in sub zero and a ‘secret’ walk in pantry next to it.
