I’m Melody Hansen, founder and principal designer of Melody Hansen Interiors, a Los Angeles-based interior design studio crafting homes that are as beautiful as they are functional. My work blends a modern California sensibility with approachable sophistication — creating spaces that feel effortless, grounded, and deeply personal.

In my down time, I enjoy reading fiction, spending time with my family, traveling, and redesigning homes I find on Zillow. ☺︎

I believe great design isn’t about perfection — it’s about balance, comfort, and a sense of place. Each project starts with listening: understanding how you live, what you value, and how your home should feel. From there, I layer texture, color, and materials to create a space that’s both timeless and inviting.

Whether I’m designing a coastal home in Santa Monica, a Culver City family space, or a creative studio in Venice, my goal is always the same: to make good design feel personal, livable, and lasting.

 

A Background in Design, Retail, and Real-World Function
Before founding Melody Hansen Interiors, I worked as a buyer in the retail industry, collaborating with vendors, reps, and creative teams — experience that sharpened my eye for quality, scale, and detail. That business perspective now informs how I manage projects: clear communication, smart budgeting, and a process that feels organized and stress-free.

As an interior designer, I’ve helped homeowners and small businesses across Los Angeles transform their spaces into environments that truly reflect who they are.
