Overview

Designed with our client’s young family and a gracious southern vernacular in mind, this home boasts antique brick, reclaimed wood flooring, and rich architectural detailing. Warm, inviting interiors are peppered with custom accents including large-scale deGournay panels that anchor the foyer and lead you into the living room where a cheerful apricot hue coats paneled walls. A large antique cabinet was revamped to include sliding doors that open to reveal a large-screen TV, antique mirror where the cabinet’s original glass used to be, and a cloth-lined interior for better acoustics. A comfortable breakfast room with patterned grasscloth wallcovering is a favorite spot for the children and opens to the cook’s kitchen that has an expansive island illuminated by a multi-light chandelier. The formal dining room with a rich blue wallcovering comfortably seats 12 and an 18th century English dresser displays a collection of brown marble dinnerware from Christopher Spitzmiller. In the primary bedroom, a custom headboard soars effectively balancing the scale of the room, while soft blue inset ceiling panels lend to the suite’s soothing color story. Iron base stools were placed in front of the settee at the end of the bed for a welcome touch of whimsy.
