Overview

Designed for clients who are avid sailors, this New England waterfront estate is located in Rhode Island, just a short drive from Boston where the homeowner’s children and grandchildren now reside. The clients both grew up in the Northeast before raising their children in Texas. Navigating back to their roots, they fell in love with this property which now serves as a residence where they can soak up summertime fun, gather with family, and dock their boats throughout the year. Designed to take advantage of the property’s magnificent views, the home's gracious design feels slightly unexpected within a charming coastal community. It is further distinguished by its interior color story which intentionally challenges the typical blue and white coastal palette, boasting a delightful combination of rich blues, ochres, corals, and textural neutrals which were all inspired by the collection of rugs featured throughout. The design team spent three years collecting arts, antiques, and accessories to create a timelessly layered home that reflects the clients’ passions. Fresh flowers bring life to every space and were sourced from a nearby flower farm as well as the home’s private gardens.
